June 2019: Business Explore & Investment Summit

The 2019 Business Explore & Investment Summit, hosted by the Canadian Municipal Business Gateway (CMBG) and co-organized by CIBAC, was held at the IBM Innovation Space Convergence Centre in June 2019. The summit attracted about two hundred local business enterprises and investors interested in emerging companies.

The four areas highlighted at the summit include biotech and natural products, finance and investment, building materials and construction technology, and education and immigration. Biotech is regarded as the most potential industry at present. Dr Ky Lo, Dr Diana, and Dr Greib are three industry veterans who explain and analyze the development and opportunities of the biotechnology industry. In terms of finance, the summit also invited Chris Cheng, Andy Chau and Tony Chang, three senior financial investment company executives, to introduce the risk management asset investment income. As Canada's economic context requires a real estate building, the conference invited various professionals related to the real estate industry, including architect Liang Weineng, engineering consultant Yang Guojie, and several environmental pollution control experts to explore the development of real estate in the future. .

Councillors of Vaughan, Richmond Hill and Markham brought economic development trends in each city to the summit. The Director of the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office, Ms. Emily Mo gave a keynote speech for the summit. She shared her valuable insights on current business prospects surrounding the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the development that China's "Belt and Road" plan would bring to Canadian businesses.
