Guangdong 21st Century Maritime Silk Road International Expo and Hong Kong Belt and Road Summit
From August 23 to 26, 2019, CIBAC members attended and participated in the Guangdong 21st Century Maritime Silk Road International Expo.
The 2019 Guangdong 21st Century Maritime Silk Road International Expo is sponsored by the Guangdong Provincial Council for the Promotion of International Trade, and is organized by the Guangdong Provincial Department of Commerce, the Guangzhou Municipal People's Government, and the China Foreign Trade Center. The expo adopts the mode of "exhibition + forum". The exhibition mainly displays the economic, tourism, cultural and other resources of the countries along the "Belt and Road", as well as the display of advantageous products and special products, reflecting the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area in the "Belt and Road" construction. Leading and pivoting role. The forum focuses on the “Belt and Road” and the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. It explores the integration of advanced manufacturing and modern service industries in Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macau, and deepens infrastructure connectivity, economic and trade cooperation, cultural exchanges between countries and regions along the route, to create a “high-level” cooperation platform.
The exhibition area is about 160,000 square meters, with a total of 16 exhibition halls. The members of CIBAC exhibiting Canadian food and health products for export, beauty skin care, investment, education and visa travel agency projects.
At the invitation by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, CIBAC attended the Fourth Belt and Road Summit in September 2019, organized by Government of Hong Kong and Hong Kong Trade Development Council.
The "Belt and Road" initiative is a global development concept designed to promote transnational cooperation, global economic prosperity and social progress. Entering the sixth year, the Initiative has made significant achievements in establishing international connectivity, deep dialogue thinking and having meaningful two-way conversation between entrepreneurs.
The Belt and Road Summit was held in Hong Kong for the first time in 2016, consolidating Hong Kong's position as a business hub, and helping enterprises in different regions to seize the business opportunities of the Belt and Road Initiative. The theme of this Belt and Road Summit is "Achieve New Opportunities via Hong Kong". The forum attracted nearly 5,000 ministerial officials, business leaders and professionals from 55 countries and regions, and held over 500 projects based 1 on 1 meetings, involving more than 200 investment opportunities. It’s thrilled to see such a great result.
